What special events take place in WDW on New Year's Eve outside of the parks?

    Hi Connie,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

To put a twist on the popular New Year's Eve classic, I'm sitting here caroling:
Should all the magic be forgot and never brought to mind?
The perfect way to ring the year is to sing "with Mouse I dined!"

Connie, celebrating New Year's Eve at Walt Disney World is an amazing experience. Yes, make no mistake, it's a popular place for revelers, and there will be lots of them. My family and I celebrated New Year's Eve at Magic Kingdom a few years ago. We arrived really early, stayed til well after midnight, and in between enjoyed attractions, entertainment, festive foods, and — yes — naps. It's an experience we hope to take in again some year.

While details on specific offerings for New Year's Eve haven't been released yet, I can share some information on last year's happenings. If you check out Disney Parks Blog you'll see they provided a sneak peek of New Year's Eve happenings around Walt Disney World including celebrations outside the theme parks. While this won't give you details for what is scheduled for this coming New Year's Eve, it can give you some feel and flavor for what's possible. You'll notice that the information appeared in mid-November, so I'd encourage you to keep checking back on the Disney Parks Blog.

You can also keep an eye out for updates on Disney Springs events. The Walt Disney World site will provide more details for how to celebrate New Year's Eve at Disney Springs.

Start the countdown, and enjoy your Disney!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
