What are the special events happen for New Years? I know Magic Kingdom and Epcot get pretty busy. Do the other parks have celebration?

Hi Kary! New Years Eve is indeed a busy time for the Disney parks. The Magic Kingdom will usually be the first park to close to capacity to getting there early is a must. It is the best location for a family with younger children as it is a family atmosphere. There are the park parades and then spectacular fireworks to top the night off.

Epcot is a busy park primarily in the World Showcase. I suggest this park for those who have older children or just adults. It gets a bit "festive" but it is also wonderful with the holiday Illuminations show followed by unbelievable fireworks.

Your only other choice will likely be Hollywood Studios. The Animal Kingdom park does not allow fireworks due to the animals and the stress that would put on therm.  The Studios will have fireworks and will also be crowded but it is not usually the first park to fill.

Just know it is one of the busiest days at Walt Disney World and the resorts will not have their own parties so you will want to go to a park to have a celebration. Resorts are quiet in respect to their guests who might not wish to welcome the new year in.
