Greetings, and welcome to planDisney Charles!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a vacation destination all on its own, one could easily spend hours in the authentically-themed main lobby to marvel at one of the
largest collections of African art in the United States, with one of my favorites being the
Igbo Ijele mask created by the Nigerian people, standing at 16 feet tall, and at 240 pounds, miraculously danced by a single person hidden within. The traditional architectural design of the lodge replicates the
African kraal - a horse-shoe shaped formation affording Guests views of the four active savannas - no detail has been left behind!
Charles, as a Guest at this Disney Resort hotel, I hope that you will be able to participate in the
potential return of
Wanyama Safari to enjoy a multi-course, South African feast at
Jiko - The Cooking Place after your up-close encounters with animals during the safari. I am hoping this experience returns in time for your visit. You may wish to create your own artistic masterpiece inspired by vistas of the savanna while sipping a complimentary drink at the Asante Terrace at Jambo House with
Wild About Painting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Please contact (407) WDW-PLAY in advance of your visit, or speak with a Cast Member at the Front Desk to reserve your spot.
During your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you may wish to consider such
special events and tours as
Savor the Savanna, Up Close with Rhinos, Wild Africa Trek, and Caring for Giants.Pro Tip - The best time to experience
Kilimanjaro Safaris is first thing in the morning, or at sundown, as some animals are active during those times. When approaching the attraction
It's Tough to be a Bug! at the Tree of Life, pause to spot the relief sculpture of David Greybeard, the first chimpanzee in Jane Goodall’s research who exhibited the first signs of trust, and whose behaviours of tool-making and consumption of meat opened new theories of primate research. Jane Goodall played a pivotal role as a consultant to the theme park.
It was a pleasure assisting you, Charles, thank you!
