    Is there a special event to watch Illuminations that is like the dessert party at the Magic Kingdom? There are 4 of us going and would like to book something special. Thank You!

    Hi Joanne!

    At this time, Walt Disney World does not offer public desert parties like that at Tomorrowland Terrace at Magic Kingdom Park.  There are three other options for getting a special seating at Illuminations, however.

    Private parties are available through the Disney Special Events Group which may include a private viewing area for the show. 

    During late November and December, guests can book the Candlelight Processional Dining Package, which does include a VIP viewing area for Illuminations.

    You can also book a Specialty Cruise. My husband and I took a specialty cruise during Illuminations on our honeymoon.  It was a really amazing way to see Illuminations without the crowds or having to stake out a spot ahead of time.

    To book a specialty cruise, call 407-WDW-PLAY exactly 180 days from your desired cruise date.  These cruises book up very quickly!  It is not uncommon for the cruises to book up within the first ten minutes of the phone lines being opened at 7am EST.  Be ready to call around 6:55am that morning and keep trying to get through!  

    I suggest grabbing a snack from one of the countries in World Showcase and grabbing your spot for the show early.  We love getting some yummy treats from France before showtime and relaxing until it's time for Illuminations to begin.   You could even get a bunch of desserts and split them among your party and have a little tasting picnic.
