Hi Larissa. Welcome to planDisney, where we strive to give our best advice to each and every Guest planning a Disney vacation.
While I have not yet personally experienced a holiday at the
Walt Disney World Resort, from everyone I've spoken to, there's nothing quite like it. I will be celebrating Easter in 2024 at the resort and I cannot wait. I honestly don't know how a holiday could get any more magical than spending it at the Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm
so excited for you.
While there usually aren't any events specific to the Thanksgiving holiday, the holiday season is in full swing by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. The parks, especially
Magic Kingdom Park, are usually decked out in their holiday best and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is taking place on select nights during Thanksgiving week and the week after. Additionally, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will begin the day
after Thanksgiving, on November 24, 2023. The best part about this festival is that it's included in the price of admission!
If you're looking for a great place to eat on Thanksgiving day, make sure that you are booking your
advanced dining reservations as soon as possible. If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you'll be able to book dining reservations for your entire vacation (up to 10 days) starting at 6 a.m. EST 60 days before your arrival date. If you are not staying at one of these hotels, you will be able to book your dining reservations one day at a time, 60 days before the date on which you'd like to dine. And if you want my top recommendation for Thanksgiving dinner it would be
Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park. But many restaurants usually offer a special Thanksgiving meal on that day so there should be plenty of options.
Larissa, enjoy your special time at the resort. Be sure to stay tuned for any announcements related to this holiday season on the
Disney Parks Blog and
reach out with any other questions leading up to your trip!
The more you are in a state of gratitude, the more you will attract things to be grateful for,
Matt
