Hi, Lisa!
I really like the idea of picking up special
Disneyland Resort souvenirs to commemorate a visit, like the drawings you mentioned. In fact, I have a portrait of my sister and me that was drawn by one of the talented Disney artists in New Orleans Square nearly 20 years ago. In addition to a fun souvenir, it’s become a treasured keepsake from my childhood vacations to Disneyland Park.
Another great option is to visit the Silhouette Studio on Main Street, U.S.A. to have your children’s profiles captured. It only takes about 60 seconds and is a priceless keepsake. I just took my son there for the first time recently and it was such a neat (yet inexpensive) experience that we plan to make it a family tradition.
You should also check out the name art that can be custom created for you. Artists paint names using the Disney characters and icons of your choice to form the letters, and you can even have the finished product matted and framed to display in your home. There are two locations where you can commission these—in Fantasyland near the Matterhorn Bobsleds and in the
Downtown Disney District.
I hope this helps, Lisa. Please feel free to ask me more questions as you continue to plan. I enjoy hearing from you!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
