Hi, Susan! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
As the mom of both a prince and a princess, I know the importance of taking everyone's interests into consideration when planning a vacation. Luckily, there really is something for everyone at the
Walt Disney World Resort.
I'm glad that you mentioned
character dining, as it is something that everyone in my family enjoys. Not only does it give us the chance to experience a delicious meal, but it also allows us to visit with some of our favorite Disney pals without taking away from our valuable theme park time. While there are several opportunities to meet the Disney Princesses at a character meal, there are plenty of character dining experiences that feature other Disney characters as well.
Chef Mickey's at
Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of my family's favorite spots for breakfast at the Walt Disney World Resort. We have a tradition of visiting this restaurant for breakfast on the first morning of every Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We all love the fun, lively atmosphere, and of course, the Mickey waffles!
The Garden Grill Restaurant is another one of my family's favorite character breakfasts. The cinnamon rolls here are heavenly! The Garden Grill Restaurant is located in
Epcot's Land Pavilion. We like to book a pre-park opening breakfast here. After we enjoy our meal and a visit with Chip 'n' Dale and their friends, we head right downstairs to experience
Soarin' Around the World before most of the early morning guests have even entered the park. If your grandson loves Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred-Acre Wood,
The Crystal Palace in
Magic Kingdom Park is another great character dining option.
In addition to character dining, there are countless other experiences throughout the Walt Disney World Resort that might appeal to your grandson. If he is between 4 and 12 years of age and strong with the Force, perhaps he would like to participate in
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. If it's a pirate's life for your grandson, stop by
The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom Park. At The Pirates League, guests 3 years of age and up undergo a swashbuckling transformation into a fearsome pirate. After becoming a member of The Pirates League, the
Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage could be the perfect ending to your grandson's magical day.
If we can help you with any other vacation planning questions, please visit us again. See ya real soon!
