What special activities are there on October 31st? Is it extra busy?

    Boo To You, Grace!

Thanks for stopping back by planDisney with another great question! October is one of my favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort as spook-tacular fun takes over and grim, grinning ghosts come out to socialize!

Grace, one of the highlights of the season is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  This special-ticketed event takes place on select evenings from 7:00 PM - 12:00 AM and includes trick-or-treating, rare character greetings, special snacks, and fun ride overlays.  You'll also find Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.  As an added benefit, your party ticket will allow you to enter the park as early as 4:00 PM.  I like to use this early entry time to grab dinner so I don't miss a minute of the activities during the party!  While this party takes place throughout the fall, the most popular evening is by far Halloween itself.  If you hope to attend the party that night, I recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible.  Tickets are available now for guests staying in select Disney Resorts Collection hotels and are on sale to all other guests beginning May 15, 2024.

Besides the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom, you can find some other fun, festive activities around the resorts and parks.  At Disney's Hollywood Studios, Minnie Mouse hosts seasonal dining experiences for lunch and dinner at Hollywood & Vine.  Typically, you can find characters dressed in their Halloween best for the fall season.  Fall at EPCOT brings the annual EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.  Along with this event, you can usually find a fall-themed scavenger hunt.  Throughout the parks, you may also find some seasonal merchandise as well.  When we visited on Halloween a few years ago, we skipped Magic Kingdom Park that particular day and instead had fun dressing the kids up in their Star Wars Halloween costumes and spending the day at Hollywood Studios with pretty manageable crowds.  Of course, if the crowds are giving you a bit of a "fright" that day, you can always use time-saving tools like Disney Genie+ and Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering to make the most of your visit!

Grace, I hope you have bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful time at the Walt Disney World Resort!  If you have any other vacation planning questions, just steer your Doom Buggy back here to planDisney and we'll be happy to treat you to some of our best tricks!

    Hurry Back. . .
