Hi there Douglas! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your planning question. We love to help!
Oh my goodness! It sounds like your sweetie is in for a real treat. I can't imagine a better way to begin your life together as a married couple than with a proposal at Walt Disney World. Douglas, my friend and fellow panelist,
Rayna, offers a lot of excellent ideas on where to pop the question at the Most Magical Place on Earth - including having Mickey Mouse himself aid in the operation! I love the idea of proposing at a Character Meet and Greet;
Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture the entire event!
If your beloved is a fan of the
Frozen sisters, I like the idea of Anna and Elsa getting in the act at the
Royal Sommerhus in Epcot. These two ladies are always a ton of fun to interact with. Inform a Cast Member of your plans as you enter the attraction, and see what sort of pixie-dust ensues! You could follow the proposal with a romantic meal for two at any restaurant in World Showcase. My choices for romance in Epcot are the
San Angel Inn and
Monsieur Paul.
Disney Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons also has a great compilation of places to propose to your love. Getting down on one knee next to the Wishing Well in the Magic Kingdom? Super romantic and unforgettable. There is usually a Disney PhotoPass photographer stationed near this iconic location to capture guests' wishes. My top pick for a proposal in the Magic Kingdom Park is in front of Cinderella Castle at the conclusion of the
Happily Ever After fireworks show.
Douglas, in case you aren't aware, just this month Disney launched a photography service called
Capture Your Moment. This new offering lets you book time with a Disney PhotoPass photographer for a personalized photo session during regular park hours at the Magic Kingdom Park to commemorate an extra special occasion. If this is something that interests you, contact your travel agent to see if it can be arranged prior to arrival. Same day appointments can also be reserved from the concierge desk of your resort hotel, pending availability.
I'm sure you have plenty of ideas in mind at this point, and I wish you luck in selecting just one! Be sure to pass by
Guest Relations once you have asked the big question to pick up some celebration pins. The best part about proposing in Walt Disney World is that you will always be able to return to the place where your love story began and relive your magical moment for years to come.
Congratulations, and best wishes!
Betsy
