At Space 220 it looks like in the film there is sound simulating a rocket take off. Does the room or floor move or vibrate? There is an 80 yr. old in the party who can't tolerate any movement.

    Dorothy, do you copy?

Thanks for returning to planDisney's orbit with another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm thrilled to hear your party will be enjoying an interstellar meal at Space 220 Restaurant during your upcoming trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I was able to travel 220 miles up to the Centauri Space Station above EPCOT earlier this year, and I'm happy to share my extraterrestrial experience with you, Dorothy. Now, let's get your party prepared for launch!

As someone who's somewhat motion-sensitive, I, too, had concerns about making the journey to the space station. Full disclosure, Dorothy: Guests don't actually leave Earth via a space elevator (the "Stellarvator") during this dining experience. However, the storytelling and theming at this restaurant are completely immersive, leading Guests to believe they're soaring beyond the earth's atmosphere! When Guests arrive at the entrance to Space 220 Restaurant, a Cast Member will escort them to the space elevator, which simulates a "launch" up to the Centauri Space Station, where the restaurant and Space 220 Lounge are located. Dorothy, I'm happy to inform you that Guests may request alternate transport to access the restaurant. When you check in at the entrance, simply notify the Cast Member that you'd like to reach the restaurant using a regular, non-simulator elevator.

While dining among celestial bodies is a pretty phenomenal experience, the real star of Space 220 Restaurant is the food, Dorothy. This dining location features a prix-fixe menu, so you'll enjoy an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert during your interstellar dinner expedition, or a two-course meal at lunchtime! I thoroughly enjoyed the Big Bang Burrata and filet mignon, and can't wait to return to the Centauri Space Station to try even more menu items.

Dorothy, I hope this information helps your party to prepare for liftoff. Enjoy the views aboard the Centauri Space Station! If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to return to planDisney again anytime. We're here to help create happy and memorable experiences for everyone in your group!

    All systems go,
