Hi Sarah!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending your Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR!
I am a very picky person when it comes to what's near my food and beverages; I even bring dish soap with me on vacation. And that was pre-pandemic. Now I've only gotten worse (meaning I bring it in my park bag) so I completely understand this question. The answer is it depends on which
souvenEAR sipper, mug, popcorn bucket, wine glass, etc, you're referencing and wanting to purchase. Usually, everything is taken out of the boxes they were shipped in and also removed from any individual wrapping. At popcorn stands and drink carts, there will usually be fancy coat racks holding these items for both display but also for the ease of the Cast Members. At
Quick-Service dining locations, the mugs are usually also out on a counter in the service area ready so they are ready to go. These items are ready to be used once unboxed.
One thing you can do, Sarah, is ask that whatever you're purchasing (a drink, popcorn) be given to you in a regular disposable cup or box, that way you can clean the souvenEAR item to your liking, but also as a bonus, your souvenEAR can stay in pristine condition. Or, if you're like me, you're more concerned that your new cup won't get everything else sticky when you're done with the beverage and put it in your park bag. I was actually given a drink in a paper cup when I ordered the travel mug at
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in February, and that was without me even asking - the Cast Member did that on her own. So I know that others won't have an issue should you request a separate cup/box either.
Pro Tip: You can get an idea of which dining locations currently carry which souvenEAR items by pretending to place a
Mobile Food and Beverage Order in your
Disneyland Mobile App. When you open the app, tap the + button. Then select 'Order Food'. Play around with all of the
participating Mobile Food and Beverage dining locations by clicking on an arrival time. This will open up the menu that includes pictures of each item, including the souvenEAR add-ons. You don't have to add anything to your 'cart'. And best of all, this can be done from home - I'm currently scrolling the various DLR selections from Dallas!
I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Sarah! Be sure to check out the
