Hi Kristin,
Thank you for coming to us with your question and I'm happy to offer up a couple of suggestions while you build a scrumptious dining itinerary.
Have you considered
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge? Although not a buffet, you can build your own All-You-Care-to-Enjoy Family Platter to include yummy items like Kansas City-style pork ribs, beef, chicken, fish, corn on the cob and cowboy-style baked beans. Our family loves this dining location for the hoopin' hollerin' atmosphere, the delicious comfort food selections and the visit to Disney's Wilderness Lodge ... a treat in itself.
My other off-the-beaten path suggestion is to attend the Sunday Gospel Brunch at
Crossroads at House of Blues Restaurant. The live entertainment, praise and jubilant environment will likely become a favorite vacation memory, not to mention the incredible southern-style foods you're seeking. You'll find items like chicken jambalaya, omelet stations, biscuits and gravy, grits, chilled prawns, catfish, turnip greens, and an out-of-this-world macaroni and cheese. The brunch buffet was endless from breakfast to desserts. I'm sure the menu changes occasionally, but the Southern food will be plentiful.
I hope my suggestions were helpful, Kristin, and be sure to book Advanced Dining Reservations as early as 180-days prior to arrival. You can do so by clicking the above links online, or by calling Disney Dining directly at 407-WDW-DINE.
Best wishes!
