This sounds horrible but, my son will be 11 when we visit and does NOT eat like an adult (VERY picky and lite eater) If we don't use the DDP and pay OOP can I make reservations for him as a child for TS meal? Do they ask ages when you check in for meals?

    Hi Susan,

I can completely relate to your situation. I have one child who will only eat very simple, basic food and on the flip side, I have one son who has begged to order off the adult menu since 8 years old because he has a "grown up appetite". As a mom, you just want to know that they are eating something and that they're happy on vacation.

Here's the deal: The children's menu's are technically for ages 3-9 to order off from. That being said, I have never been told that we can't choose an option from that menu instead when paying out-of-pocket. It becomes a bigger issue when using the Disney Dining Plan. When you arrive at the restaurant, simply request a children's menu for your son. If you are ever questioned about it, ask the manager if you can pay for the "adult portion" of the food choices on the children's menu. Honestly, I don't think it will be an issue though.

Wishing you a wonderful vacation. Please let me know if I can assist you further,
