Hi, Heidi!
This is not a silly question at all; it's a great one!
My daughter is vegetarian, and many of the high school seniors I chaperone on their Senior Class Trip to
Walt Disney World are vegetarian or vegan, so I am always on the lookout for options while dining in Disney.
Le Cellier's Signature Poutine is made with freshly cut french fries, topped with Canadian cheddar, truffles and a red wine reduction--a great vegetarian-friendly option. While dining in Disney, ask your server if there are other vegetarian options that are not on the menu, although I think you'll find that most Walt Disney World restaurants have seasonal vegetarian options that go way beyond pasta or salad. For example,
Le Cellier's menu features Meyer Lemon-scented Tofu, whereas
The Hollywood Brown Derby menu features Vegetarian Pho. The new and spectacular
Tiffins features Roasted Market Vegetable Curry and The California Grill offers Truffle-scented Tofu Roll as a sushi option as well as Coconut-Vegetable Curry. YUM!
Disney chefs love to create options so that every guest has a fabulous meal, so if you don't see anything you'd like other than a salad or pasta, ask the server if the chef is able to craft something special just for you.
Take a look at menus posted on Walt Disney World's website, and target restaurants that offer dishes you'd love to try, Heidi. If you do so, you will think you are in vegetarian-dining heaven!
Send questions as think of them, too; we love to help!
