SOS!! Have over-planned our 1st trip/1st day at WDW on 9/18 (10yo twins bdays!). Arrive MCO at 10:15am to CSR via ME and then MK for the day. Pls help decide which of these 3 ADR's to keep: 1:05 or 3:20 at Crystal Palace, or 6:35 at Ohana. I'm so confused!

Let's do this by process of elimination.

If your flight lands at 10:15 a.m., plan on it taking at least 2 hours to get to the hotel and check-in, as the Magical Express bus ride will take a good 35 minutes to get you to Coronado Springs Resort--and that's if it doesn't stop another resort first. Because you'll also be depending on Disney's bus transportation to get to Magic Kingdom, I would definitely scratch the 1:05 reservation at Crystal Palace. You'll be watching  your watch--not the way to start a vacation.

Choosing between the 3:20 p.m. or 6:35 reservation then depends on whether you will be attending the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, a separate ticketed event, in the park that evening. If so, I'd go with the 3:20 p.m. reservation so that you can enjoy the park a while before eating and won't miss the parade with a dinner reservation outside of the park. If you're not going to the party, I'd go with Ohana, as the park will close to regular visitors without the MNSSHP ticket at 7 p.m. anyway. This will allow you to optimize your time in the park in the afternoon upon arrival, and you can either grab a bite at the food court at the resort or get something for lunch as soon as you get to the park to tide you over until dinner.

Last piece of advice: if my reasoning sounds good, please call Disney dining (407-939-3463) and release the other two reservations that you decide not to use. You are visiting during Disney's free dining period and reservations are hard to come by. I know there will be another guest who would like to make plans and use whatever you don't use.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
