Hiya, Raul! Welcome to planDisney! I am so happy you found your way to this happy little corner of the Disney universe. There is nothing we love more than helping Guests plan magical vacations!
You picked one of the most festive and heartwarming times of the year to visit the Disneyland Resort. The
Holidays at Disneyland Resort is something special. From the sparkling decor to the seasonal overlays and unforgettable entertainment, everything feels full of cheer. You can look forward to favorites like Believe…In Holiday Magic fireworks, the enchanting Winter Enchantment moment at Sleeping Beauty Castle, and even a little snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. It is the definition of Disney magic.
Based on your late December into early January visit, you are perfectly timed to experience all those beloved holiday transformations. That includes Haunted Mansion Holiday and the “it’s a small world” holiday overlay, both of which are on our must-dos. One of my favorite highlights during a visit last year, was
A Christmas Fantasy Parade. It is filled with nostalgic Disney characters, festive music, and your favorite characters spreading joy all along the route. It brings the spirit of the season to life.
While Disney has not announced an exact end date yet, the holiday season at Disneyland usually wraps up around the end of the first week of January. That means you should be in an ideal window to catch the final days of the celebration before the decorations come down. There is something very special about visiting at the tail end, when the holiday spirit is still glowing.
If you are looking for an extra memorable experience, you might want to check for availability for one of the Disneyland Resort’s guided tours. The
Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Guided Tour is especially meaningful. It tells the story of how Walt Disney’s dreams became Disneyland, and it includes a rare opportunity to step inside Walt’s apartment right above the fire station on Main Street, U.S.A. I did this last December and I cried. It was such a beautiful and emotional experience. Tours typically open for booking 60 days in advance, so keep an eye out as your travel dates get closer.
Raul, I hope your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is filled with wonder, laughter, and all the magic the holidays can bring. If you have more questions as you continue planning, please come back and see us. We are always happy to help!
Wishing you the merriest Disney holiday and a truly unforgettable trip!
