Welcome back, Charlotte!
I know first hand the concern of traveling with a family who has mobility issues. The Walt Disney World Resort has made every effort to make the parks as accessible as possible for Guests with limited mobility issues. You will find that most attraction queues are wheelchair friendly, so your entire party can access the area together. Cast Members are positioned at attraction entrances to provide directions and assist your party to the loading area.
My advice is to let Cast Members know if your family member can walk a short distance or needs more accommodations. Our son needs to remain in his wheelchair/stroller until we are ready to transfer him to the attraction vehicle. When boarding
Star Tours® – The Adventures Continue we take his stroller right to his seat. Then a Cast Member will move the stroller just outside the attraction vehicle, and return it to us after our experience. Some attractions offer accessible ride vehicles where a Guest can remain in the wheelchair during the experience. Keep in mind that there are a limited number of access vehicles per attraction, so you may experience a longer wait time than expected. I suggest taking a look at
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities for more information about attraction, as well as, transportation access.
I hope this helps, and you can focus on having a magical trip with your family. Please let visit us again should other questions arise as you continue to plan!
Have a magical day!
