Hi Shelly,
Don't worry, a lot of people get confused at first with the different services offered at Disney World. Once you start using them, you will get the hang of it quickly. The important thing to remember is that
Disability Access Services (DAS) is a separate service available only to those who can not wait in a line for an extended time. It is not associated with any of the other offerings at Disney World.
Disability Access Services (DAS) can be set up ahead of your vacation through an online video chat. With DAS, you can request return times equal to the posted wait time of a ride so that your party can go somewhere quiet or less crowded while you wait for your favorite attractions. Once your wait time is up, you will return to the attraction entrance and enter through the
Lightning Lane. The Lightning Lane is not an immediate entry into the attraction, but it does cut your wait time significantly.
If you have already completed the registration process for DAS, then you will need to download the
My Disney Experience app. The My Disney Experience app is where you will request DAS return times for your rides once you enter the theme park. This is where you are likely getting a little confused. The My Disney Experience app is also where you can pay for
Individual Lightning Lanes and the
Disney Genie+ Service. Both services allow you to reserve Lightning Lane entry times throughout the day. People using DAS return times, Individual Lightning Lane purchases, and Genie+ reservations will all enter through the same Lightning Lane entrance at the front of each attraction. Anyone visiting Disney World can choose to purchase the Individual Lightning Lanes or Disney Genie+, but only those who qualify and go through the process will be able to utilize DAS. If you struggle with accessing the DAS return time section on the app, do not hesitate to stop by
Guest Services. They will give you a quick tutorial and have you up and running in no time.
If you are using DAS on your trip, you can also use Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases to see more things in a short time. We do this regularly because we struggle with lines and cannot often spend a long period in theme parks.
Happy Planning
Jenna
