How soon should I start planning for my WDW trip? 2 adults and 2 kids. I want to go for Christmas 2013. When should I start planning/buying my plane tickets? I know getting plane tickets too early can cost more, but too late can be just as bad

    Hi, Desirae!

    These are great questions!

I think it's never too early to start planning a vacation to Walt Disney World. By starting to do your research now, you'll uncover some hidden gems that you may not have found out about early enough otherwise. For example, several of our favorite restaurants book up 6 months prior to Guests' check-in. If it takes you a little while to determine where you'd like to dine, then a little more research to decide on which day, then a bit more to decide which meal and at what time, you'll want to have done this well in advance of that 6-month window, if possible.

Moreover, Christmastime at WDW is so very magical, the most popular resorts and dining reservations are sure to fill more quickly than other times of the year. Again, if you are able to plan ahead, it surely couldn't hurt.

Keep an eye on your favorite airlines' websites, so that you can see when rates have been posted. We check every couple of weeks, just in case there is a great deal there as well. Personally, we book those tickets as early as possible, especially if traveling over a holiday, when rates are sure to go up as the holiday approaches.

Send more questions as you think about planning your perfect Christmas getaway in WDW; I'd love to help!
