How soon can I book a January 2022 cruise using banked points (March 2020 points)

    Welcome to planDisney, Julie!

I love hearing that you have a Disney cruise on the horizon. Based on the date you mentioned, it sounds like you have your heart set on the Disney Magic for a five night Western Caribbean cruise. Excellent choice! I’ve sailed from New York City to Canada onboard the Disney Magic, and all I can say is that the ship truly lived up to its name...especially when we passed the Statue of Liberty. Jaw-dropping moment for sure!

I can tell from your question that you are a Disney Vacation Club member. Fortunately, all the information you need is available since Disney Cruise Line released its early 2022 itineraries and the Disney Vacation Club points chart is good through 2022. This table will tell you precisely how many points are necessary for redemption for a Disney cruise in 2022. The page has the title “Disney Collection” and has different years listed. Select the four and five night Western Caribbean cruises under the 2022 tab and it will take you to the points table with your selected sailing. You’ll be able to see the different stateroom categories and the points required to make your Disney Magic reservation. Note that the points listed are per person and based on double occupancy.

My fellow planDisney panelist Lauren gave me some great guidance on how you’ll make this happen. First, you will need your Disney Vacation Club member number ready. Then call Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 to transfer the points into reservation points. A Vacation Planning Specialist will be able to walk you through the process of turning those Disney Vacation Club points into a cruise reservation. To me, it sounds a little bit like what the Fairy Godmother did for Cinderella in turning a pumpkin into a coach. Definitely some pixie dust involved there!

Before you book, make sure to explore all the stateroom options available on the Disney Magic. I can promise that the Disney Magic will live up to its name. With the fabulous “Tangled: the Musical” and Rapunzel’s Royal Table as one of the main dining rooms, you are in for a royal treat. If you have more questions, feel free to stop back by planDisney and we can work on them together!

    Happy Sailing!
