I soon have to make ADR's for Aug. I'm planning on booking Spirit of Aloha dinner, but I'm unsure about Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Travelling with DH, DS15,DS13 would the BBQ be appropriate or is it more for younger children? Did HDDR in Dec. and liked it!

    Hi Tricia!

Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness is a great way to spend an evening with your family.  I have younger kids who absolutely adore having the opportunity to boogie with the Characters, but I think it can be a great night for kids of all ages, depending upon what interests your kids.  The event features a Country-Western band, live singers and variety acts in addition to the characters coming out to dance with the crowds.  It's a very up-beat, fun evening.   If your kids still like meeting the characters and would enjoy the other performers, music and food, I'd say go for it.   I will say the "bulk" of the people on the actual dance floor are little kids and their families.   If your boys are "over" characters and not particularly interested in a night of Country Wester Music, I'd say skip this event and head over to Sci Fi Dine in Theater and a ride on Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster!

    Have a great trip!
