Hello! Our sons are 4 &6. Was thinking about taking them to the Rainforest Cafe. My son doesn't like meeting the characters. Do we need reservations? Do you have any other suggestions on dining or something to make this a special trip? Thank you

    Hi Hunwal,

Thanks for finding the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There are many fantastic dining options available outside of Character Dining, do not worry! My first thought, however, with Rainforest Cafe was the "thunderstorm" setting and characters surrounding the dining areas. We love both locations, in Disney's Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney, but I'd suggest assessing your son's sensitivity to these features of the experience. If you do decide to dine at Rainforest Cafe, I would recommend making Advanced Dining Reservations.

I'd also suggest the following well-themed dining locations:
    • Coral Reef Restaurant, located in Epcot. Dine alongside 4,000 sea creatures where every table has a view of The Seas with Nemo and Friends Aquarium.
    • Boma Flavors of Africa, located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Awaiting your table at the delicious and popular all-you-care-to-eat buffet, you can view over 200 animals across the lush savannah.
    • 'Ohana, located at Disney's Polynesian Resort. An adventurous ride along the Monorail will bring you to ' evening of Polynesian style all-you-care-to-eat foods and delightful entertainment for kids AND adults. If you time your Advanced Dining Reservation about 30-60 minutes prior to Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, you'll be in for a VERY special treat as the restaurant will dim the lights and pipe in the music for a MAGICAL viewing of the fireworks.
I hope my suggestions are helpful, Hunwal. Have a great trip!
