Hi David,
Thanks for using planDisney as a resource for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Congratulations on raising a son in the magic that is old and wise enough to have his own
My Disney Experience account. My family's a few years away from that milestone, but my tween's in training for the day she can use her own account to check wait times, locate character meet and greets, and make
Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations for the family.
To transfer all of your son's vacation entitlements to his new account, you must merge the account profile managed by you with his newly created My Disney Experience account. Follow these steps to complete this task online:
1. Click "Update" next to your son's name on your
Family & Friends List. Just to confirm, the profile you're updating should say "Plans managed by me."
2. Click "Share planning with [son's name.]"
3. Enter the email address associated with your son's My Disney Experience account and click "Continue."
4. Once your son accepts the email invitation to connect, all of the vacation entitlements housed in your account will transfer to his new account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends, which means you can continue to view and make plans for each other.
Alternately, follow these steps to complete the same task in the
My Disney Experience mobile app:
1. Click your son's name on your Family & Friends List (three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen --> scroll down to "My Profile" --> "Family & Friends List" tab).
2. Click "Send Email" at the bottom.
3. Enter the email address associated with your son's My Disney Experience account and click "Send Invitation."
4. As above, once your son accepts the email invitation to connect, all of his vacation entitlements (tickets, reservations, etc) will be connected to one account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends and should have no trouble viewing and making plans for each other.
I hope this information helps your family enter this exciting new chapter of Disney vacation planning. In many ways, parenting is a lot like a magic carpet ride: shining, shimmering, splendid.
Plan magic; planDisney.
