Hello there, Mimi! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. You've asked us a great question about military tickets and I'm happy to help!
The answer to your question depends on which type of ticket you are planning on purchasing. There are two different ticket types that most military base ticket offices have for Disneyland Resort. The first would be a standard ticket that is available at a small discount. These standard tickets do not have ticket purchase limits and anyone can use them. The second type is the
Disney Military Promotional Tickets. These tickets are deeply discounted and are limited to six tickets per promotional period per service member. You are correct that you would have to purchase them and you can purchase them for your sons and their cousins as long as you aren't purchasing more than what you are allowed. However, one of these tickets must be used by the service member or spouse. This means in order for even your sons to use these tickets you would need to be there and use one of the tickets as well. So unfortunately they would not be able to use the Disney Military Promotional Tickets in this situation you've described.
Please also keep in mind when you do purchase tickets from a military base you will need to link them to a Disney account and make
theme park ticket reservations for these tickets for entry into the parks.
Mimi, I know this probably was not the news you were hoping to hear, but I hope you are still able to save a little money by purchasing your tickets on base. Please come back and visit us again with any other questions!
