Hi, I have 2 son's, 1 who loves to play tennis, the other loves football (soccer). Are there any opportunities for them to enjoy their favorite sports while we're at WDW next year? We're staying POR. Thank you!

Hi, Anna! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It's been a little while since we've seen you! I'm so glad you stopped by to chat. Let's help your sports fans have some fun and games on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Anna, I have a 9-year-old son who seriously never met a sport he didn't like. When we visit Walt Disney World, he's always on the lookout for any opportunity to hit or kick or throw a ball, so I do have a few ideas for our young athletes to get their sports fix.

For your tennis aficionado, Walt Disney World has several tennis courts where he can practice some volleys. The courts are open to all Guests staying in a Disney Resort hotel on a first-come, first-served basis. You'll find more information on things like court locations and gear rental on the page I linked above.

As for soccer, I don't really know of a proper pitch where your son could join a game. However, there are a few open spaces where he could kick a ball, such as the lawn at Disney's BoardWalk Inn or, my son's favorite, the football (American-style!) field in the courtyard of the Touchdown! section of Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. Just grab a ball in the Resort hotel's gift shop and let him kick to his heart's content. Afterward, the whole family can have a hearty lunch in the Endzone Food Court.

The courts and fields I've mentioned here are located at various Disney Resort hotels, so if you'll need to use Disney transportation to access them, just head to your nearest Theme Park and transfer to another Resort bus.

Off the field, your soccer fan will love checking out the Pele Soccer store at Disney Springs, while at the ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk, you can enjoy a tasty meal while watching the day's biggest sporting events on dozens of TV's. It's a winning play for our family!

I hope this helps you plan an action-packed vacation for your sports fans, Anna. If you need additional suggestions or just have any other questions, please do come see us again soon. We get a "kick" out of helping our Guests!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
