We are going for my son's first birthday. Is there any way to get a cake. We have a character breakfast that morning. Wanted to know if I brought a candle if they would help us sing to him? I know he will get a button. any other tips or ideas? Thanks

    Hi there, Casey!

Your family is going to have such a great time celebrating your little boy's first birthday at Walt Disney World! I'm so glad to hear that you've got an Advanced Dining Reservation for a Character breakfast! Often times, that can be such a fun way to introduce little ones to the fun of interacting with the Characters.

There is actually a Cake Hotline where you can customize a specialty cake and even have it personalized. Their phone number is 407.827.2253 and they require at least 48-hours notice. I'm really fond of the Mickey Mouse shaped cake! For more of a spontaneous celebration, there are 6-inch cakes available in chocolate or vanilla with no notice necessary. These cakes are available at most Table Service restaurants. Also, take a look at the section of the Walt Disney World website that shows different options for Customizing Birthday Celebrations for some more ideas. I know the Cast Members will help you sing Happy Birthday if you ask, but you'll want to ask at the restaurant about the candle because some restaurants will not light it for safety reasons.

We actually celebrated my nephew's first birthday earlier this year and we had such a huge amount of fun! We took him for his very first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park. It was a great experience for our whole extended family, as well as my nephew! He even received a special set of Mickey Mouse Ears as part of the package that were just his size!

I sure hope this helps, Casey! Happy Birthday to your little guy from all of us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please let us know if you have more questions!

Wishing you a Pixie Dusted vacation!
