It is our son's 19th birthday and we want to do something special dinner in the Magic Kingdom. We have the Deluxe Dining Plan and want to lunch at Tony's Town Square - any suggestions for a special birthday dinner?

    Hi Jennifer,

Happy (almost) birthday to your son!  Liberty Tree Tavern is one of our favorite table service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom, however, for a really special evening, I suggest leaving the Magic Kingdom (for just a bit) and walking or riding the monorail over to the Contemporary.  The walk is only about 7 minutes at a leisurely pace.  There, I'd recommend either the Wave Restaurant or California Grille.  I recently had the opportunity to eat at both and thought each was fantastic, and a great choice for a 19th Bday Celebration.  A well-timed dinner at California Grille will enable you to see and hear Wishes (the Magic Kingdom firework spectacular) from your table or a special terrace for guests of the restaurants.  The view from the top of the Contemporary, where California Grille is located, is truly spectacular.  The menus at both restaurants are both contemporary and sophisticated and very celebratory!

If you are interested, you can order a special birthday cake to help celebrate your son's special day as well when you make your dining reservations.  When you are done eating, you can head back to the Magic Kingdom (again, either via the monorail or a quick walk) to finish your day at the park!

    Have a wonderful evening!
