I want to make my son's 5th birthday at Disney extra special but I can't afford the birthday packages Disney provides so I plan to do it myself. If I provide all the supplies, will they decorate and set up the room for me for free?

    Hi, Angel!

A 5th birthday celebration in Walt Disney World sounds fabulous!  Bringing your own decorations is a great idea, but you will have to do the set-up on your own. I suggest that you send your family ahead for a snack at the food court or to check out your resort gift shop, while you stay back in the room and quickly decorate the room. Believe me, your 5 year old will have no problem spending some extra time in the gift shop with a family member while you make everything festive!

For birthday celebrations, I have even brought party hats to  restaurants and small table decorations. Make sure to pick up a free Happy Birthday button for your son to wear so everyone knows you are there to celebrate!

In lieu of an autograph book, bring a large birthday card for the Disney Pals to sign at Meet and Greets. This will be a great keepsake for his scrapbook. And of course, take lots of pictures to remember this special birthday.

Wishing your son the most magical birthday ever as he celebrates in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
