Hi Monica!
Welcome to planDisney! A birthday onboard with Captain Mickey and his crew makes for one memorable SAILabration and one not to be forgotten, especially for your son. I love this idea so much, and I can’t wait to share all my birthday tricks with you as you chart a course for an adventure at sea with your whole family!
You should contact a
Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning Specialist to see if any accommodations can be made for a party of your size to celebrate the birthday boy in style. Sometimes certain areas of the ship are used for group events, but they would be better situated to tell you whether that is a possibility for your sailing. Not making any promises, but I always believe in the philosophy that it doesn’t hurt to ask!
Next, you’ll want to make sure that EVERYONE onboard knows it’s his special day. So also be sure to tell the Vacation Planning Specialist to have his birthday noted in your reservation. And be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button from
Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship) that can be worn the entire vacation.
Hmm, what says “it’s my birthday” more than cake? Give him a birthday sugar rush by ordering a cake for delivery to a stateroom or a dining room on the selected date and time of your choosing. FYI: Cake orders must be placed no later than 7 days before your sail date. Besides cakes, you can also pre-order gifts or birthday decorations for your stateroom using the
Onboard Gifts link. This is just one extra way to make the pixie dust fly! The “Birthday Wishes Stateroom Decor” package would totally add the wow factor to any birthday surprise. Make these arrangements at least 3 days before your voyage begins. That gives them plenty of time to pull off the surprise!
Speaking of surprises, your
rotational dining team will be more than happy to sing "Happy Birthday” and bring a complimentary dessert to your little man. There's nothing quite like seeing a child's expression when your servers surround the table and sing their hearts out while delivering a delicious dessert covered in candles. And since you will be a party of 30, my guess is that they will need to have your seating all arranged so that you are a block of tables together!
Combining a family gathering and a birthday at sea is sure to be an unforgettable vacation for your crew and your little prince! Monica, we would love it if you would SURPRISE us with more questions as you make these special plans; it would be the best PRESENT ever!
SEA ya real soon!
