My son’s birthday is Dec 16th and we will be at Hollywood Studios. Where can we get a birthday cake or birthday dessert to celebrate this?

Welcome to planDisney, John! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question. Celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World is one of the most magical experiences you can give, and how wonderful that your son will be spending his special day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! I’d love to help you make his celebration extra sweet by sharing the best places in the park to pick up a birthday cake or a fun birthday themed treat.

You can absolutely celebrate your son’s birthday at Hollywood Studios with a special cake or birthday dessert. The easiest and most reliable option inside the park is 50’s Prime Time Café. This restaurant is located right in Hollywood Studios, and because it is a table service location, it can arrange birthday desserts or even a small celebration cake. When you arrive for your reservation, simply let the host or your server know that you’re celebrating your son’s birthday. They can bring out a special birthday dessert, often with a candle, and sometimes with a message on the plate. If you prefer, you can also pre-order a celebration cake in advance when you book your dining reservation online or through the My Disney Experience app. You can also submit an order in-person at the restaurant’s host podium at least 4 days prior to your reservation. All requests for same-day cakes must be made in person upon arrival at the restaurant. Participating restaurants have a limited quantity of Mickey Mouse celebration cakes available for day-of orders.

If you don’t want to pre-order a cake, you can still enjoy a birthday treat that feels special. 50’s Prime Time Café has several plated desserts that work wonderfully for celebrations. Servers are usually very accommodating when it comes to birthday moments, and they’ll often make it fun and personal.

Another option inside Hollywood Studios is to visit the quick-service spots or snack locations that offer special desserts. The Trolley Car Café (the Starbucks location at the front of the park) often has celebratory cupcakes, seasonal treats, and pretty pastries that can feel like a birthday moment without needing a sit-down meal. It’s a convenient choice if your day is busy and you want something you can enjoy anywhere in the park.

Hollywood Scoops on Sunset Boulevard is also known for delicious ice cream sundaes and would make an easy, sweet birthday celebration. You can add sprinkles or toppings and even bring your own birthday button or glow wand to make the moment feel extra magical.

If you want the experience of a true birthday “cake,” a reservation at 50’s Prime Time Café is your best in-park option. If you want something quicker or more flexible, the cupcake and ice cream options around the park are perfect too.

John, I hope these suggestions help you feel excited and prepared as you plan your son’s special birthday celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. No matter which treat or location you choose, he’s sure to feel the magic of the moment. Thank you so much for visiting planDisney with your question. Wishing you a day filled with sweet surprises, joyful memories, and all the pixie dust his birthday deserves!
