My son will be 9.999 years old when we visit Disney and will be really hungry if he has to eat off of the children's menu! Advice??

    Hi Susan,

If you are participating in the regular Dining Plan, that includes a table service meal, I recommend dining at restaurants that either feature a buffet or serve meals family style.  Your son (and you) will be able to enjoy selections from both the kids' menu and regular menu.  Most character meals fall into this category.  Other restaurants that I suggest dining at include: Liberty Tree Tavern, Biergarten, Whispering Canyon Cafe, 'Ohana, Boma, and Cape May Cafe.

As far as Counter Service meals go.  I find that adults are usually given more than enough food since dessert is included in every meal.  It's possible that you could share some of your entree with your son.  There are also some restaurants that don't have a separate menu for kids, in which case he would be able to order an adult meal.  Yorkshire County Fish Shop is a great place to go for a filling meal.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
