Hi there Ryan,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for taking the time to send us your great question, we really appreciate it! It looks like you are planning a magical first visit to Disneyland Resort for your son, I bet you are going to make some wonderful memories together! I remember the first time we took my daughter to visit Mickey & the gang, it feels like just yesterday!
I have great news, Ryan. Children under three are considered guests of Mickey Mouse and do not require a Theme Park Ticket or
Theme Park Reservation, they will simply enter with you and the rest of your party. With that being said, if you plan on staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, your son will need to be included on the reservation for capacity and safety reasons. Also, if you make any
Advanced Dining Reservations, please include your son in the total number of guests as restaurants also need an accurate guest count.
When you visit
Disneyland Resort this fall, be sure to stop at guest relations and pick up a complimentary "First Visit" button for your son. While I know he won't wear the button, it is a nice souvenir of your first visit together to keep in a memory book for him to see later. We made a shadow box to commemorate out daughter's first visit, with her "First Visit" button, her first set of Minnie Mouse Ears as well as a picture of her in front of the castle. Whenever I pass by the shadow box it brings me back to the joy she had at the Happiest Place on Earth. She is almost 13 now, and I still see the pure happiness in her eyes when we walk down Main Street U.S.A. and catch a glimpse of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
I hope you have a wonderful time with your son this fall, Ryan. If you have any other questions as your visit to Disneyland Resort approaches, please come back to
planDisney, we are always happy to help.
