Welcome back to
planDisney, Elizabeth!
I love exploring
Disney's BoardWalk Area - it transports me back to a simpler time, echoing the turn-of-the-century coastal experiences of yesteryEAR. With its close proximity to
EPCOT, I often walk over during my jaunt around World Showcase to grab a snack and craft cocktail at
AbracadaBar or a Shore-Side Sundae at
BoardWalk Ice Cream.
The
Surrey Bikes are such a big part of
Disney's BoardWalk's charm - seeing them up and down the boardwalk truly transports you to a different time and place. While I've never seen anyone not having fun on one of the Surrey Bikes, I do know from experience that it is work, and the pedals can be a stretch for some Guests. I'm 6'2" and the last time I was toiling around in one of the Surrey Bikes, I fit quite well, but a member of my crew who is 5'1" had to stretch a bit to reach the pedals and contribute to our journey.
Your mileage may vary, but there are no formal height restrictions currently (or any recommended heights listed, unfortunately), so bring a few friends and I'm sure your son will have a great time as a passenger or pedaler! As part of
Walt Disney World Resort's reopening, some recreational offerings are available intermittently, but on my recent trip, the Surrey Bikes were back! Once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you can check on availability at Disney's BoardWalk, and at
several other locations which usually offer Surrey Bike rentals.
Thanks for stopping by! If any further questions come up, please don't hesitate to
reach out to me!
