Hello, Barbara!
The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is an accommodation for Guests who are unable to tolerate a traditional queue. Although DAS does not provide for a significantly shorter wait time overall as
Lightning Lane queues do, it can be a critical tool for Guests with certain disabilities so they don’t miss out on enjoying their favorite attractions despite their individual disabilities that might otherwise hinder the experience.
When a DAS return time is requested for an available attraction, the Guest and the registered members of their party are given a time after which they may return to the attraction to then experience the attraction with reduced or no time in something like a traditional queue. That return time is based on the anticipated wait time of the standby queue at the time the return time is requested. Because the overall wait time for a given attraction when using a DAS return time is basically the same as if using the traditional standby queue, Guests using DAS may use the service in a way that best suits their preferences for the selection of attractions they would like to enjoy. That includes the ability to repeat a favorite attraction as long as that attraction is available.
Tony’s Tip: After requesting a DAS return time, we like to relax in a quiet place, browse a nearby store, or sometimes even find another attraction that doesn’t have a long wait time. So it is still possible to maximize the magic of your time at the Disneyland Resort using DAS. For some, this may be adequate. Others may wish to enjoy still more attractions. So by purchasing the
Disney Genie+ service and/or purchasing
individual Lightning Lane return times while also using DAS, Guests may enjoy access to even more attractions while also utilizing services that help to keep their experience manageable and magical.
I hope you have a magical time, Barbara!
