My son has a walking boot but may need a wheelchair. Are there wheel chairs we can rent? He may be just fine but I've heard it's a lot of walking

    Hi Diane!

I'm so sorry to hear that your son has suffered from an injury! You are coming to the right place for vacation because there's nothing like a little bit of Disney magic to help him heal.

You are definitely right that there can be quite a bit of walking when you visit theme parks. In fact, a full theme park day can be a pretty good leg workout for those of us who don't have an injury, so it's very smart for you to plan ahead for your son. You can rent a wheelchair for him at all of the theme parks, as well as the water parks and Disney Springs. If your son would prefer a little more autonomy, you also have the option of renting an ECV (or Electric Conveyance Vehicle), so he won't need to be pushed.

Keep in mind that wheelchair and ECV rentals are located at theme park entrances, so if your son gets tired when you are at the back of one of the theme parks, someone may need to go pick up a wheelchair for him. Since rentals are for an entire day or for the length of your stay, you can always pick up a wheelchair when you enter the theme park and bring it with you just in case he needs it during your day.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as you continue preparing for your trip so you can get all of the latest information and announcements about new things headed to the theme parks, Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
