Hey there, hi there, ho there, Wendy!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Oh boy... it sounds like your son has an exhilarating trip coming up. I can't think of a better way to spend time with school friends than at The Most Magical Place on Earth! Soon, your son will be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. with his closest pals. Although it sounds like you won't be joining in on the fun this time, I'd be happy to help you prepare for your son's upcoming visit!
Wendy,
dining plans may be added to eligible Walt Disney Travel Company vacation packages (including theme park tickets and a
Disney Resort hotel reservation) for stays beginning on or after January 9, 2024. At this time, the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan can be added to these packages. Unfortunately, without knowing the details of your son's existing arrangements, I'm not able to say whether a dining plan can be added to his booking. If you have the reservation details for your son's Resort hotel stay, you may reach out to the friendly Cast Members at the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line to inquire about adding a dining plan. If you don't have these details, I recommend checking in with the individual who booked the group's trip for additional information.
If you're not able to add a dining plan to your son's upcoming vacation plans, you might consider sending a pre-loaded
Disney Gift Card with him to cover the costs of his meals and snacks. Disney Gift Cards are an accepted form of payment at most
dining locations and snack carts throughout the Walt Disney World Resort! I encourage you to sit down with your son to determine an appropriate gift card value based on his group and individual plans. If you purchase multiple gift cards ahead of the trip, you can
combine them on the Disney Gift Card website so he only has to carry one card with him. While Disney Gift Cards can't be stored as a saved payment method in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, they can be used for mobile food and beverage orders placed in the app. I like to keep my gift card information saved in a "Note" on my phone so I can quickly copy and paste the card details into the app when I'm ready to place a mobile order!
Wendy, I hope this information helps your son prepare for an exciting Walt Disney World Resort adventure! Feel free to revisit
planDisney anytime with additional planning questions. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
