Hello Susan!
Your son must be thrilled to be visiting
Walt Disney World Resort very soon! I can't think of a better vacation destination for a middle school-aged child.
I am happy to hear that all of his meals, lodging and transportation have already been taken care of. What a relief! It sounds as though his school is doing a fantastic job planning his Walt Disney World Resort visit.
How much spending money you will need during a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is always a subjective question, as everyone's spending habits are different. I suggest allocating about $50.00 per day for snacks and souvenirs. This amount works well for my family. Your son will be able to pick up some cool Disney treasures at the Parks and Hotel Resorts. He will also be able to re-fuel with water, juice, soda, and snacks. I see he is traveling in January, but I find that most children cannot pass up a delicious Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bar while at Walt Disney World Resort.
Have you taken a look at the '
Planning for Older Kids, Tweens, and Teens' page on the Disney Parks website? It has a wealth of information for planning Disney Parks visits for older children.
I wish your son a magical vacation, Susan! Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and I look forward to helping you again real soon.
With lots of Pixie Dust,
Priscila
