    Hey there, Kristin!

I hope you're having a wonderful day! I'm so glad you found us here at planDisney. In my opinion, there's no better place to celebrate a birthday than The Most Magical Place on Earth. In our family, it's become a tradition to celebrate every birthday at Walt Disney World Resort, with the birthday person in charge of the itinerary. There's something extra magical about strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., on your special day.

What a wonderful way to celebrate your son's third birthday! We had the privilege of taking my youngest just two days before his third birthday. It was an amazing opportunity to enjoy the magic with him and save a bit on his part of the trip! I love that Walt Disney World Resort only charges for children ages 3 and up, so he didn't need a park ticket or Lightning Lane reservations. Just remember to include your little one in your dining reservations so everyone in your party has a seat. While you're there, be sure to catch the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Disney's Magic Kingdom. My son, now twelve, still loves waving at his favorite characters!

If you booked your vacation package directly through Disney, I'm happy to share that as long as your child is two years old on the day you check in, they'll remain free for your entire trip, even if they turn three during your stay. There won't be any surprise charges halfway through. If you purchased your park tickets from somewhere other than Disney, your child will be charged as soon as they turn three, so keep that in mind. Either way, celebrate big! Don't forget to pick up a complimentary “Happy Birthday” pin from Guest Relations so everyone knows it's his special day. Some of my son's favorite memories are from Cast Members and fellow Guests wishing him a happy birthday and making him feel extra special.

Kristin, I truly hope you have the most magical time celebrating your son's birthday! My youngest still loves telling people his first roller coaster was Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It's amazing how many treasured memories come up when we look back on our Disney adventures. Wishing your son the happiest of birthdays! If you have any other questions, please come back and see us. Thank you for trusting us here at planDisney.

    Your personal planning companion,
