Hi Mary, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for trusting us with such an important question regarding your visit. I can help guide you in the right direction for your son's needs.
Visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort is always exciting for families. As a parent, I completely understand wanting to make sure your Mouseketeers are comfortable. That is always a large part of an enjoyable visit in my opinion. You mentioned your son and using a wheelchair, if he needs one to be available
Wheelchair Rentals will be at each of the theme parks. They are first come first serve, so be sure to get there early. If your stay is for longer than one day they are also available for weekly rental.
Disney Parks has a program called the
Disability Access Service also known as (DAS). This program is designed to assist guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in conventional queue environments due to disability. Guests can now pre-register for a live video chat as soon as 30 days before your visit. If your son does qualify for the program up to 6 guests (not including your son) can be included in your son's DAS access. You can also
Call Walt Disney World and locate the phone number on this page for Disability Services.
I hope this information is useful in helping you plan your visit. If you need more help planning be sure to stop back and we will be ready to help!
Have a magical day!
Jeremy A.
