Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Robert! Thank you so much for asking us this very important question.
Walt Disney World Resort restaurants handle
special dietary needs and requests with great care. Having a daughter with a severe nut allergy myself, I can attest to this firsthand! Although you can find
Disney restaurant menus online, the nutritional information is not currently listed and I have been told that chefs cannot accurately give you the carbohydrate count on most items, although most will help you navigate through the menu and possibly make adjustments to fit your son’s diet. Also, when it comes to snacks, many prepackaged items will have the nutritional information listed on the packaging. For more assistance, I recommend contacting Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com at least 14 days prior to your arrival to discuss your son’s nutritional needs.
In addition to this, I have a few tips to make your magical vacation run smoothly:
-You can ask “Mousekeeping” (your Disney Resort hotel’s housekeeping) for a sharps container, or you can ask for one at the front desk.
-I suggest looking into the
Disability Access Service Card as your son might not feel comfortable waiting in a conventional queue, especially if it is hot out! Keep in mind that these cards are available on a case by case basis.
-Try to bring snacks that won’t melt. Melted chocolate in a backpack can leave quite the mess!
-Don’t be afraid to ask to speak to the chef for assistance.
