My son is a type 1 diabetic. Will the places we eat at be able to provide me with the nutritional information so that I may count his carbs in order to cover him with the appropriate amount of insulin?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  My husband is diabetic so I completely understand your need for the nutritional information to insure proper doses of insulin.  In our experience, dining at Walt Disney World is one of the easiest places to dine, and to get all of the nutritional information needed.  The Chef's really go above any beyond to ensure the needs of all guests have been met.

Before traveling, please check out the Special Dietary Requests page on the Walt Disney World website.  When you book your dining reservations, be sure to note your request on your reservation.  I also like to send a quick e-mail to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to make sure my husband will be accommodated.  You should know that in order for the Cast Members to help, it is recommended that you have all of your dining booked, and that you contact them prior to 14 days before your arrival.

When you arrive at each dining reservation, ask to speak with the Chef or Manager to make your requests very clear, and to get all of the information you need.

If you have any more questions about dining at Walt Disney World Resort, don't hesitate to send me another question.  I would be happy to help make your planning a little more Magical.

    Stephanie
