Hello there, Lori. Thanks for taking the time to visit us on planDisney with your questions.
I bet you and your family are excited for your upcoming trip to the
Happiest Place on Earth. As a pediatric RN who has cared for numerous children with Type 1 diabetes, I can understand the importance in planning ahead when traveling with your son. You do not need a special pass in order to bring his insulin syringes, medicines and food into the parks, but it is helpful to have your doctor’s note, just in case. There is a
First Aid center in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. When you’re in Disneyland Park, the First Aid center is located next to the Baby Center at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, you’ll find the First Aid center next to the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street. You can store your son’s insulin vials (or any other medications that need to stay cool) in the medicine refrigerator at the First Aid center while you and your family enjoy the day. Nurses are available during normal park operating hours should any medical needs arise. Additionally, in practically every restroom, you will find sharps containers for you to safely discard used syringes. And of course, since you’re traveling during the warm summer months, please don’t forget to take breaks to rest and stay hydrated!
I hope this information is helpful for you, Lori. If you have additional questions in planning your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort, please don’t hesitate to
write us again. We’re all EARS!
See ya real soon,
Kiki
