If our son turns 3 on the second day of our trip do we have to purchase him a ticket?

    Hi Melissa!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited to hear that you are planning on celebrating your son's birthday at Walt Disney World Resort since it's the perfect place for a celebration! Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday celebration button for your son from any theme park Guest Relations location or Disney Resort hotel so Cast Members and other Guests can join in his celebration! My son celebrated his third birthday at Magic Kingdom and he got a personal birthday song from The Dapper Dans when they noticed his button.

One of the magical things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is that Guests don't age during their trip. That means that little Guests use their age at the start of their trip for the duration of their vacation for ticketing purposes. So since your little prince will be 2 years old when your vacation starts, you do not need to purchase a theme park ticket for his trip. Simply let Cast Members at theme park entrances and FastPass+ queue entrances know that your little one is 2 years old and he will be able to enjoy the magic!

You have planned your trip perfectly for his birthday celebration because you will be able to save money from his tickets to use towards Dole Whips and souvenEARs, but you won't miss out on any celebrating. And since every birthday celebration needs a cake, be sure to consider ordering him a birthday cake to enjoy during your trip!

Please let us know if you have additional questions as you continue planning your vacation with your little one. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
