Hello, my son turns 3 on June 3rd. We are planning a trip May 5th he is very tall for his age and reaches the 40 inch height requirement. Can he still ride the height required rides even if he’s 2 and technically doesn’t have a ticket?

Hi there, Aley! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your excellent question.

Your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth will be here in just a few weeks. You must be getting so excited! From one mom of extra tall kids to another, I salute you. It's a tall order watching out for our big little ones! My oldest was also as tall as your 2-almost-3-year-old at the same age and I am very familiar with your concern.

I have good news, Aley! All Guests under the age of 3 are guests of Mickey and do not require a theme park ticket or park reservation. The good news is that they still have access to all the rides, attractions, and fun as long as they meet the height requirement! My oldest loved Big Thunder Mountain Railroad before he turned three years old. Maybe yours will also be a thrill seeker!

Aley, did you know you can use the Disneyland Mobile App to discover all the rides your kiddo can ride based on his height? To do this, open the Disneyland app and tap the Pin icon, second to the left on the bottom of the home screen. This opens up the park map with all the resort Attractions showing. From here, click "Filter" in the top left of the navigation bar and it will give you options to filter by height, thrill factor, and more!

Also, if you forget anything for your little one, visit the Baby Care Center at either theme park. They have toddler-size toilets for Guests under 42 inches tall, changing tables, and baby and kid necessities (such as sunscreen and snacks) for purchase. When my kids were little, we were frequent visitors there, and the Cast Members were so friendly!

I hope this answers your question, Aley. If you have any more, please come back and ask me. I am always happy to help!
