My son will be turning 3 on our next visit to WDW in Feb. 2010. Any ideas how to make his birthday special on this day?

    Hi Peter!

Celebrating any birthday at Disney is magical, but there are many ideas for making your son's day extra special!

First, I would recommend a character meal with some of his favorite characters.  If your son likes Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Pluto, I would recommend a dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort.  The Resort is located within a five minute walk of the Magic Kingdom, so it's easy to get to if you plan on spending your day at the park.  Speaking of parks, be sure to get your son a free birthday pin at guest relations at whichever park you visit.  Have him wear it, and he will be surprised at how many cast members wish him a wonderful day!  If your son is a pirate fan, you might want to take him over to Pirate League at Magic Kingdom for a pirate makeover.  My boys were transformed into pirates this past August and had an absolute blast!  For more information, pricing and reservations, call 407-WDW-CREW (939-2739).  You might also consider an in-room celebration for the birthday boy.  On my last birthday, I received the "Mickey and Pals Big Birthday Wish" package, and was amazed.  Each of the "Fab Five" (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) left me a gift.  Donald's box even had feathers popping out of it!  My room was decorated with balloons and a huge birthday banner and I had a chocolate cake from Minnie.  The folks at can help you pick a celebration that is appropriate for your son.  Finally, you can celebrate your son's birthday with a custom cake delivered directly to your table at the restaurant of your choice, by calling the cake hotline (yes, there really is one at Disney!) at 407-827-2253 at least 48 hours in advance.

I hope your little guy has a wonderful Disney birthday!
