Welcome to planDisney, Shekinah!
Let me be the first to wish your little one the most magical birthday! It really is so special when you can celebrate a milestone like a birthday at Walt Disney World. I’m swooning over here just thinking about all of the beautiful memories I’ve made with my own family members on their big days.
Because it will be your first time visiting, too, I can tell you that by just simply tapping into the magic, you are going to feel amazing. I recommend that your very first theme park day is a visit to
Magic Kingdom Park. Seeing the iconic Cinderella Castle will take your breath away. And don’t forget to take a photo with your son down Main Street, U.S.A. Any Disney PhotoPass photographer will be more than happy to take your photo (they’re actually peppered throughout the theme parks and other locations around property).
AN EXTRA GEM: If you want a full-on photo shoot celebrating the occasion, you may be interested in booking some one-on-one time with a Disney photographer through the
Capture Your Moment Enchanted Extra.
At every single theme park (and at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel front desk), you’ll find celebration buttons that say phrases like “Happy Birthday!” Your little one may be a little too small to wear one, but you certainly can get one of these complimentary souvenirs to remember the moment. You can also get them super customized at the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park and at the Disney Days of Christmas at Disney Springs.
My family’s favorite way to celebrate birthdays is at a character dining restaurant. You can even take small gifts into the restaurants and open them during your meal. Our top choices? ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park, and Garden Grill Restaurant at
EPCOT. Your son will squeal with joy meeting the characters while eating a complimentary meal (kids under 3 eat for free at All-You-Care-To-Enjoy experiences). Make an advance dining reservation in the
My Disney Experience App up to 60 days before your arrival date.
Also, consider adding a
Mickey Mouse celebration cake to your dining experiences or getting a cute cake from Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs. These are pretty yummy and they’re big enough for multiple people to enjoy. It could also be perfect for a smash cake if your little one wants to get a little messy.
Shekinah, your baby boy’s birthday is going to be practically perfect. If you need any more ideas about celebrating or anything else about your upcoming vacation,
revisit us here at planDisney. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
