Hiya, Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney.
First things first, I’d like to wish your little Mouseketeer a happy early birthday! I honestly can’t think of a more magical place to commemorate such a huge milestone. (I may be a tad biased…) I am more than happy to share my own experiences and information about Mickey Mouse’s rules with you.
According to
Walt Disney World Resort’s policy, Guests aged 3 and older need a valid theme park ticket for entry. To be in accordance with this rule, your son would need a theme park ticket for any days that he is aged 3 or older.
Do keep a couple things in mind: Theme park tickets are discounted for children aged 3 through 9, so that is a major plus. The only non-discounted tickets for that age group are Walt Disney World Resort
annual passes, which cost the same as an adult’s pass. Also, the friendly Cast Members at the Mickey-shaped scanning points usually don’t ask Guests for proof of age. In my case, it’s not a mystery because my little ones like to wear those complimentary birthday celebration buttons, so their ages are pinned to their chests.
AN EXTRA GEM: On the days leading up to his birthday, not only does he get free entry, but he can also eat at All-You-Care-To-Enjoy restaurants at no additional cost. That was one of my favorite excuse to try as many restaurants as possible when my kiddos were little.
Elizabeth, if you have any additional Disney vacation planning questions, feel free to revisit us here at planDisney. We love sharing our tips and tricks with fellow Guests like you. I especially love helping parents maximize their vacations with their little ones.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
