Our son will be turning 9 while on his first trip to Walt Disney. Is there anything special we can do to celebrate his Birthday?

    Hi Donna!

Congratulations on your son's big birthday celebration!  My family has celebrated many birthdays in Walt Disney World and can attest to how special a birthday is when it is celebrated in The Happiest Place on Earth.

There are many ideas for celebrating a birthday in Walt Disney World.  Listed below are some of my favorites:

    • Get a birthday button from Guest Services and wear to the parks each day; be prepared for your son receiving many happy birthday wishes throughout his day
    • Make a special t-shirt for your son and emblazon "It's My Birthday" on it
    • Pack some decorations and while he is sleeping decorate your hotel room for a big morning surprise
    • Call the Disney Reservation Center and have your son's birthday noted on your hotel accommodations as well as on any Advanced Dining Reservations
    • Instead of an Autograph book, bring along a large birthday card for all of the characters to sign
    • Book a Specialty Cruise for a night he'll never forget
    • Custom order a Birthday Cake or In Room Celebration
    • Book a Goofy's Candy Co. birthday party (details also in the above link)
    • Gift your son a Disney Gift card the morning of his special day and allow him to pick out a special gift for himself
    • Book a Pirates League transformation

I hope some of these ideas help you plan your son's big day.  After all, it's the last year he will be in the single digits (need a Kleenex?)

    Blessings,
