My son is turning 2 during our upcoming trip to Disney (Feb 4) and I would love some tips or suggestions on how to have some magical things happen? I know about the button and we have reservations at Chef Mickeys, but do you have any tips? Please!

    Hi Phillip,

Disney World is a great place to celebrate a 2nd birthday! You are correct - be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button for him at any Guest Relations location. That will help Cast Members recognize that it is his birthday & they can help sprinkle pixie dust all day.

Chef Mickey's is an awesome place for a birthday meal! You could order a custom cake by calling 407-827-2253. They offer a nice selection of different cakes from which to choose. They need 48 hours advanced notice & advanced dining reservations are required.

If you'd like to get a small cake for your son, you could get a mini cake in a Pirate's Treasure Chest which comes with a special surprise toy. These cakes are available at most Family table service locations. Call 407-WDW-DINE for more info.

You can add more pixie dust to his BD celebration meal with party favors. Options include a goodie bag with a Mickey party hat, game, coloring book & crayons. The deluxe goodie bag contains all of the above plus a magnet activity set, and Mickey shaped straw all in a special celebration tote bag. These are available at most family table service locations. Call 407-WDW-DINE for more info or request them when you check in for your reservation.

If you are visiting the Magic Kingdom, stop by the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street & have them add some colored gel and/or some mouse ear confetti to his hair. A little something festive for a festive occasion.

You could also pick up a super cute "It's My Birthday Ear Hat".  Its a special ear hat that can be found at The Chapeau at the Magic Kingdom and other shopping locations throughout the resort.

For a cool keepsake, pickup an Autograph Book and have the characters sign it for his birthday.

Wishing your son many magical birthday memories :-) Allison
