My son is turning 21 while we are at Disneyland. The site says that a drivers license isn't an acceptable form of proof of age to buy alcohol. What is acceptable forms of ID?

    Hey Tonya!

    Welcome back to planDisney!

You must be really excited to celebrate your son’s birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth. Your son is probably looking forward to trying some yummy alcoholic beverages while you're there. I recommend you make some time to visit my favorite watering hole over at the Disneyland Hotel. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar offers some amazing Polynesian inspired cocktails with an even better atmosphere. They offer one-of-a-kind cocktails and a wide selection of beer and wine as well. It’s always a stop for me when I visit the parks.

I’m not sure where you saw that a government-issued Driver's License isn’t an acceptable form of proof of age for alcohol. As long as the Driver’s License is not expired or temporary, then it is absolutely an acceptable form of identification. If it’s a temporary Driver’s License because you’re waiting in the mail for a new one or it’s expired, then it would not be an acceptable form of identification and your son would not be able to purchase alcohol.

Well Tonya, if you have any other questions before your trip please come back and let us know how we can help.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
